  • Ohio State Buckeyes Flex Their Muscles

    IMG_2922b

    Outnumbered at The Shoe

Ohio State flexed their muscles a bit at Ohio Stadium as they played host to the Cincinnati Bearcats. and with that, the Buckeyes' Asst AD for Football Sports Performance, Coach Mickey Marotti, definitely had to be pleased with what's been #developedhere in Columbus. Interestingly, Mickey
Marotti was Cincinnati’s strength and conditioning coach for nearly nine years, from 1990-98. and Brady Collins, Cincinnati's Director of Football Performance,  worked for Coach Mick as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach with Ohio State Football. Head Football Coach Luke Fickell served as interim Head Football Coach for the Buckeyes.
With their 42-0 win, Ohio State maintained their spot among college football's elite in the 2019 season, moving their record to 2-0. The Bearcats make their trip back to Cincinnati and prep for another in-state rival, the Miami Redhawks, a team that they've been playing since 1888…. 1888!

  • NAVY Football at CINCINNATI BEARCATS

    IMG_9580dr3
IMG_9585There was no stopping the Cincinnati Bearcats last Saturday against the Navy Midshipmen. Once again, the UC redshirt freshman star quarterback Desmond Ridder put on a show as he worked the RPO Run/Pass Option to perfection. Likewise, Navy had no answer for Cincinnati's defensive front, which was more like a wall and contained Navy, a run oriented team to only a few yards over 100 yards rushing. Similarly, there was no answer through the air as they could only complete 3 passes against a Bearcat secondary that wasn't giving up any ground. Obviously, Coach Luke Fickell, a former collegiate defensive star himself (Ohio State '93-'97), was able relax a bit after the contest, especially since Navy had rushed for over 600 yards in the previous (2017) meeting. New Defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman was very pleased with the 42-0 shut-out as the Cincinnati Bearcats improved their record to 8-1  The Cincinnati Bearcats are one of the huge surprise teams in all of college football. They're presently ranked #23 in the  Coaches Poll and cruising toward showdowns with USF and #11 University of Central Florida.  Stay tuned!

Offensively, with Desmond Ridder in command, the Midshipmen had no answer for anything that the Bearcats tried.

  • Cincinnati Bearcats Dir.of Football Sports Performance Brady Collins at Glazier Clinic

IMG_7765BCglazierclinicASAP~Athletic Strength And Power checked in at the Glazier Clinic-Cincinnati held at The Hilton Cincinnati Netherlands Plaza and caught up with Cincinnati Bearcats' Director of Football Sports Performance Brady Collins who was a featured speaker at the event. Coach Collins spoke three sessions: the 1:30pm Neck Training for football, 2:45pm Building a Culture in the Weightroom, and finally the 4:00pm Alternative Training Methods. Folks, this guy is a polished speaker and will no doubt be called upon for many other football and Strength & conditioning clinics. It's easy to see why his name will be surfacing at future clinics…. He has gained coaching experience and guidance from some of the best in the business. Ray Rock Oliver and Ted Lambrinides UK Wildcats, Mickey Marotti Ohio State, Matt Balis & Rick Court Mississippi State have all influenced Brady and his coaching philosophy. Collins has recently kicked off year two at Cincinnati and reports to Head Football Coach Luke Fickell who has the Cincinnati Bearcats pointed on an upward climb!

IMG_5358It's a new era of football for the Cincinnati Bearcats. Coach Luke Fickell and his very experienced staff are in town now and they're beginning to build the foundation that needs to be established for future prosperity. The base is often times the most difficult part of building a structure. But once it's established…. lookout! And that's where Brady Collins enters the picture. He's the guy who Coach Fickell has entrusted to lead his young Bearcats as the Director of Football Sports Performance. Here's a few game pics and Bearcats-in-training videos to show you how Coach Collins and his staff are laying down the groundwork.
