Congratulations to ASAP Football Strength Training Advisory Board Member Ken Mannie and a big day in East Lansing. Ken's the Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Michigan State Spartan Football squad which defeated the Michigan Wolverines last Saturday.
For a look inside the Spartan Training complex and an update from Strength Coach Mike Vorkapich, a segment with ASAP Program Director Ted Lambinides, and…. an up close and personal glimpse of Coach Mannie in action, just click on the photo.
Michigan is a much improved team this season under second year head coach Rich Rodriguez. The team's rigorous training program is led by Mike Barwis, a past ASAP Podcast guest. ASAP's Ed Cicale, armed with sideline credentials and rain gear, checked in on all the action…. which went to overtime after a furious comeback by the Wolverines, as they had scored two touchdowns in the final two minutes. However, "State" intercepted Michigan's shot at an overtime win and followed that up with a 3rd down 23 yard burst by freshman running back Larry Capers.
Here's a look at some "behind the scenes" raw footage action and a few game highlights from when it wasn't raining hard in East Lansing in Part One. Part Two captures the post game celebrations, the Paul Bunyon Trophy and press conference with a few players and coaches… including Coach Mark Dantonio.
