ASAP~Athletic Strength And Power is thinking BIG this week…. as in Big East. First, we examined the University of Cincinnati Bearcat strength program. Then, we headed down I-71 to find out what was going on at "The ‘Ville" that is, the University of Louisville and the Cardinals Basketball Strength & Conditioning program, where strength coach, Ray Ganong, joins us for a podcast right from the new confines of the weight training complex located within the Yum Center.

In today’s program, Coach Ganong talks about:Oie_ray_ganong_5

  • being a member of the Miami Hurricanes Football Team
  • becoming the strength coach for the University of Miami Hurricanes following a recommendation from Steve Bliss, who had been hired by Woody Hayes to become the strength coach at Ohio State.
  • coaching with Howard Schnellenberger and winning the 1983 National Championship
  • strength training philosophy that he’s developed from over 25 years in the profession.
