  • ASAP~Archives: Sports Performance Video: 1994 Coach Bob Rogucki Phoenix Cardinals NFL

1994. There wasn't much action at the corner of  Warner and Hardy on the outskirts of Tempe, Arizona. Today, it's a whole lot different. Not as much mesquite…nor sagebrush rolling around. Not as many saguaros, either.  And, Bob Rogucki is not wearing those cardinal red shorts anymore…he's the Head Strength Coach of the Baltimore Ravens, today. But that was 1994.  ASAP's Ed Cicale finished a 5 mile hike through the Sabino Canyon's "telephone line trail", sidestepping rattlesnakes and surviving the searing sonoran desert sun, then headed up I-10 out of Tucson on up to Tempe. That's where Coach Rogucki was working out Ernest Dye, who was coming back from knee and shoulder surgery. You'll see him in the video. You'll also see Chuck Cecil on the Woodway Treadmill. Also, briefly walkng through, is then-assistant coach Rex Ryan.

  • ASAP~Archives: Sports Performance Video: 1990 Penn State TE Al Golden

Long before Head Football Coach Al Golden was drawing the X's and O's of a football coach, he was in training for the Penn State Nittany Lions…. a notable and talented Tight End for Coach Joe Paterno
In this video, catch assistant strength coach Chip Morton busting Golden through an intense training session. The video has been edited down…but note that Morton gave Al Golden little, if any, time between exercises. A brutal, and difficult way to train. Those types of workouts require the athletes to have extreme mental and physical toughness. And these were the norm. These training characteristics of hard work, perserverance, and determination had tremendous carryover for Golden's career. He's placed the same demands on his Temple Owls Football squad.…. as the Head Football coach. (Recently named Head Coach at Miami Hurricanes)
As for the assistant strength coach in the video…. Chip Morton is presently the Head Strength Coach of the Cincinnati Bengals.

  • ASAP Close-Up Profile: Auburn Tiger QB Cam Newton

  • Kentucky Wildcat Football Strength & Conditioning Training Program

There's something exciting going on in Lexington, Kentucky. Head Football Coach Joker Phillips and Strength Coaches Ray "ROCK" Oliver and Ted Lambrinides have created a new foundation for what has been termed 'OPERATION: WIN'. Things are paying off already! The Wildcats are on the move in the SEC Conference…where practically every week there's a BIGTIME foe. #6 Auburn needed a Heisman-like performance from their star quarterback to nip Kentucky as time expired. Then, UK answered the following Saturday with a comeback victory over #10 South Carolina, who had just knocked #1 Alabama from their throne.
Here's an ASAP feature video on OPERATION: WIN

Due to use of music on the video, we have temporarily discontinued that version
