  • Tennessee Vols Football Strength Training Video with Dave Lawson: Part One

IMG_4510They're  the same iconic checkerboard endzones emblazoned upon the football fields in Knoxville, Tennessee…home of the University of Tennessee Vols. Yet, they're cast under a new light since Head Football Coach Butch Jones has come to town. The new staff has embraced the Tennessee Volunteer past by opening their arms and facilities to the former players and lettermen who paved the way for one of the top winningest programs in all of college football.

IMG_4548There have been no games yet, but there's been plenty of winter strength training, high energy conditioning sessions and spring football. Spirits are high and for the new coaches, the whirlwind has yet to really slow down. But, that makes little difference to the Vols Football Director of Strength and Conditioning. Coach Dave Lawson knows all about the demands and high expectations of what Tennessee Football is all about. The mantra in Knoxville is basically… "we just wanna win." Lawson and his cohort, Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach Mike Szerszen, rolled up their sleeves when they arrived at their new $50,000,000 Vols Football training complex…. and it's been go-go-go ever since!  So take a look at the photos and video from the Hammer Strength Clinic 2013 from Knoxville, Tennessee. This is truly one of the most impressive training centers that you'll find anywhere.

  • ASAP Video: Maurice Clarett & Boom Herron Strength Training

    Reece Clarett
We all go through the game of life with a fumble or turnover here and there…some of us with much bigger mistakes. Nevertheless, we all learn
lessons from those experiences, no matter how tough they may end up
being. The great thing about mankind is we have an ability to forgive
others as we take notice that they're taking strides toward
improvement… we all love a comeback story! Maurice Clarett's book is "A Season
of Thoughts" and a step in the right direction for this incredibly
gifted athlete who got thrown for a big loss…and ASAP~Athletic Strength And Power wishes him the best!
One of the most valuable lessons learned in sport is that when you get
knocked down…. you gotta get back up!

Former Ohio State Buckeye standout running backs Maurice Clarett and Boom Herron (photo vs Oregon) have been in training in Columbus at the Ohio State University's Woody Hayes Athletic Center.
DSC_0052They helped demo a few of the new strength training stations in the recently refurbished weight room…like the Pit Shark belt squat machine, the neutral grip bars, the Captains of Crush hand grippers, some of the hand strength development pieces, and the new wide attachment handles for the Power-Lift Lat Pulldown stations. It's all in the video. Daniel "Boom" Herron @BOOMHERRON1 is presently a running back with the Cincinnati Bengals

Clarett  @ReeseClarett13 , who scored the winning touchdown in the 2003 National Championship Game for the Ohio State Buckeyes vs the Miami Hurricanes, has authored a book: "My Life. My Story. My Redemption… A Season of Thoughts" and is making an attempt at the game of rugby…possibly for the Olympic Team! He also maintains his blog with plenty of regular entries… and fitness training workouts.  The new book is a compilation of Clarett's "deepest and purist thoughts" during some of his most trying and adverse circumstances: Prison Life.
